Christina and Bryan - Engagement shoot
Sunday, January 24th, 2010Ready for my last session of 2009? I went to China Town in NYC with Christina and Bryan. I love the colorful look of China Town, the shops, food, etc made a great backdrop for the shoot. We stopped at a gaming store, their favorite restaurant and took some really fun shots. I forgot to mention this was the day hours before that horrible snow storm hit NY, we got out of there just in the nick of time…
While we were shooting I found out they love gaming, ps3, x box wooooo, so do I
Allison and Tim - Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Brooklyn NY
Sunday, January 17th, 2010Alison and Tim was a pleasure to have as my last wedding in 2009. Brooklyn Botanical Gardens was absolutely beautiful.
I loved Alison’s dress and her gloves, she also changed into a awesome layered dress later in the day with a sweet french cage veil and ruffled heels. The music, let me tell you about the music. They used Forever Young by Alphaville as their first dance song and the Smiths, The Cure and Depeche Mode followed through the rest of the wedding.

Rebeca and Martin - College Club of Boston
Saturday, January 2nd, 2010Rebeca and Martin were my wedding photography winners from a contest I had in 2008. The were married on a lovely October day in Boston. Can I just tell you how much I loved this wedding? Rebeca’s dress and Martin’s coat was handmade by her friend who created it for her from a 1950’s pattern. The dress designer work can be seen here http://www.storiedthreads.com
This dress is definitely my favorite of the 2009 season. I would wear it in a heartbeat.
Rebeca also made her hairpiece herself!
The wedding had a ol’ English teatime theme, everyone had to wear stylish hats, there were finger foods and tons of tea in this beautiful historic building with cascading staircases, baroque style wall paper.. droool..
Here is their entry :
Here are some snippets from their contest entry: “Our wedding will be a lot like us: from all over, bizarrely cohesive, and decidedly off-beat. We’re having an afternoon tea party, complete with little sandwiches and scones, and are highly encouraging gloves and fancy hats. I will be wearing a 50s-inspired cocktail dress, and he will be wearing a leather kilt. There will be no dancing– since we’re having guests from four continents, we’d like to be able to talk to them instead of shouting at them. ….We want it to feel like an afternoon at a favorite aunt’s– somewhere comforting, warm, friendly and loving, full of the best-loved people in our lives. The college club is perfect for this vibe, as it’s in one of Boston’s oldest neighborhoods, and exudes that kind of settled-in, comfortable charm in all its built-in cabinetry and plaster work. We want it to be fun and relaxed, not stuffy and pretentious. But with kilts. everything is better with kilts”
On why they wanted me to photograph their wedding:
“We’d love to have you shoot our wedding because of your eye for detail, but for your ability to capture feeling and moments– an uncertain smile, a tender touch of the fingers– without seeming like you’re violating the space. That takes ease and careful timing, and it shows in the finished work.”
Here are the photos:
we started the weddign session by shooting photos around the Boston Common Gardens before the ceremony. I want to thank for Rachel and Aly for helping otut
Thanks to Rachel Hadiashar for taking this pic of me.
