Meghan & Cesar - Day After Session @ Old Westbury Gardens

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

Gorgeous mansion on the Gold Coast of Long Island. I have shot here before but never inside, I really loved the architectural detail and while we were in there we were told of the restoration they were doing with the mansion. The fields of gardens go on forever here, almost feels like miles and miles. During the summer and spring the flowers go on and on.

This place is really special..I used to run around here when I was a child..

This shoot marked the end of myself and Monica Z’s 3 day photoshoot in January during a snowy weekend. ( Meghan and Cesar, Jamie and David, Day After with Cesar and Meghan)

As Monica put it on her blog it was a treat to end the third day of shooting inside this beautiful mansion. Check out her blog to see the photos from the shoot also

Moving on… literally.. to a new location

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

All right so there has been a lot going on in my life recently, my Husband and I have been house searching since last August. If anyone knows anything about house hunting you know a couple of things:

1. It’s extremely stressful

2. It’s hard to decide on where to live, where you can get the best bang for your buck. Etc. In this economy it’s very hard to see how the market is going to go.

3. The price is not right…and the home was amazing….

However, my husband and I walked into a house approx a month ago, the price and location was right and we LOVED the house. This was the first feeling we got from the tons of houses that we had seen in the last 4 months.  Yes, I am hoping we are living the American Dream and taking on a huge responsibility, which can be extremely daunting to first time homebuyers.

So tomorrow, we will be homeowners at approx 3:30pm. I am excited, scared, and happy. Etc. all the same so glad we are doing this. I can’t wait to show a  photo of our  1929 Colonial in Seaford, NY.

For all emails and inquiries in the next two weeks there will be a delay in replying since I will be moving to my new home.

Best,
Laura

Firetrucks, snow, firemen, carefully planned details, and a crazy  fun wedding party

I invited my awesome friend and wedding photographer Monica Z of Monica Z Photography to be my second shooter. We had a crazy weekend that weekend with two weddings a day after shoot with Meghan and Cesar the following Monday..

Monica started out with the guys and I started out with the girls. With the weather on and off with snow showers we were uncertain of the future of the outside photos, we decided to run outside right before cocktail hour to brave the cold.Totally worth fighting the cold, we got some amazing pics without avail.

Monica put together a awesome slide show of the wedding with our photographs.

Day Afters with Meghan and Cesar at Old Westbury Manor to be posted shortly.
